Antibiotic Effectiveness? Help!?

Long story short,... I started on Penacillin, once I stopped infection came back, so I took Amoxicillin and once I stopped infection returned again,...so I took Amoxicillin again, but it didn't work. My DDS gave me Clyndomicin. I took Clyndomicin on the hour I was suppose to resume Amoxicillin,... within 6 hours the pain was almost 90% gone... I slept through the night and woke up pain free... went out for a while and the pain has now returned. I am going to the DDS on Thursday. Going to be on Clyndo probably through Thurs and until my regular DDS returns... my apmt after the 10th is on the 23rd. I just want to know, this is my first time ever taking Clyndomicin.... could the bacteria build resistance to them too? I'm in pain again and worried. Remember, I only started Clyndomicin lastnight, had some relief and now am in pain again. Any professional advice out there? Thank you so much.

Antibiotic Effectiveness? Help!?
I find that most patients do NOT take their antibiotics like they're suppose to. They are suppose to take it EVERY 6 hours. But after questioning them, they take it before bed, when they wake up, at lunch and at supper. And then they wonder why their antibiotic isn't working.

Just like birth contol pills, most women miss two pills every month. Most patients take the antibiotics until it stops hurting and save the rest "for a rainy day." Almost always patients have leftover antibiotic pills from their last infection.

"Even though an antibiotic is effective in attacking susceptible bacteria, some resistant ones may survive, especially if you don't take enough of the medication to do the job. These surviving resistant bacteria multiply as a resistant strain, or group, and are more difficult to treat. "

Ok so assuming that your taking your antibiotic EVERY 6 hours then you may need to add an additional antibiotic to your regimen. Call your dentist and tell him your situation.
