Weird dental infection problem?

11/05 lump appears, 12/05 asked dr about it, put on zithromax said tissue infection. 1/06 asked DDS, said gum infection put on EES. 2/06 went back said might be from a tooth wait and see, 4/06 went for cleaning asked again, had different DDS, partner of other one, lump hurts now, said wait and see. 5/06 lump bigger, went to different DDS who said tooth infection and fistula, get root canal. 6/06 got partial root canal done, DDS tried to fill it with temp filling, PAIN, had it removed, tooth wide open on clindamycin for 6 weeks, 8/06 sick cancelled dds, he went on vacation, got in 10/2/06, he put temp filling on it after cleaning it out, on clindamycin now, PAIN again, I want it pulled, they won't saying infection could get in blood system but had it 11 months now, oral surgeon I consulted said he wouldn't remove the fistula either, DDS had to fix it with the canal but canal is filled and done! I still have infection, this is dr, 3 DDs and oral surgeon later, what would you do?

Weird dental infection problem?
Wow. I had a lot of stress about having peridontitus but I really feel for you. I'd go to the hospital and have some tests done.
Reply:Have it pulled! It wouldn't be worth saving to me!
Reply:It needs courage to bear the pain for so long. You may still have some (insurance) juice left in you. See the quick result of infection vanishing once you announce you want dental implant at the site after tooth pulling...
Reply:Sometimes you can not eliminate the infection totally before removing a tooth. Sometimes the best treatment is to remove the source of the infection. Unless your swelling is still huge, I say it's time to get the thing out. Perhaps go on antibiotics for another week prior, but do it. Now all you need is a doctor who agrees with me.
Reply:Put all your effort in healing that infection. Make sure you eat nutritious foods, take vitamins, sleep enough hours. Do what it takes to boost your immune system. Get that infection under control and have that tooth pulled.
