I have an HP plasma tv.How do I get my HDMI cable to have audio. I only get picture. my tv won;t change to dds
What model do you have?

What is the source?

Most TVs, including HP's will not support Dolby Digital input from HDMI.

If the input is DD, the TV will pass it trough the Digital audio out.

Go to your source (set-top box, DVD player, etc.) and change the audio output to be PCM. Since the TV has only two speakers, this should have no effect on your audio quality.

If you want, true 5.1 surround, then you will need to connect the audio digital out to an AVR.

Go to www.hp.com/support type your TV's model number and you should find a lot of help and answers
Reply:if you have your TV connected to a home theater system with DVD it will not push the sound that is the way they are made if its just a DVD player you also need to select the proper audio feed on the DVD player to get the TV to work with it as well
