What does d.m.d and DDS. MS for a dentists title?

DMD stands for Doctor of Dental Medicine. DDS stands for Doctor of Dental Surgery. According to the American Dental Association website, the two degrees involve the same kind of training. Most dental schools award the DDS degree whereas the rest award the DMD degree.


MS stands for Master of Science degree. Some dentists completed their MS degrees prior to enrolling in dental schools.

What does d.m.d and DDS. MS for a dentists title?
...and others with the MS have gone to programs like periodontics that award an MS after finishing their specialty training.
