Ladies with DDs? I need a better bra?

I have tried "full coverage" size D from Victoria's secret and my breasts still seem to spill over the top. I recently got an Olga full figure bra. I really like it, but I can't wear it with tank tops or low cut tops, because the straps and top of bra show. Does anyone have this problem? I need a bra that comes in a large size, good support, but not show with a tank top.

Ladies with DDs? I need a better bra?
dont worry -you CERTAINLY arent alone in this problem (if anything- so many more women have this problem than admit to it!!)

if you are spilling over in a d or dd, try an e cup.

I was convinced i couldnt be "that big" but it turns out i am, and while it means i can no longer shop for bras in walmart type stores (kmart/big w here in australia), i am so much more comfortable in a proper fitting bra. there isnt that much difference in size, but the spill over is definitely gone.

what i would be looking for in a bra is the fuller figure type- although the temptation is there to buy a shelf bra because it can be worn underneath a low cut top- avoid the shelf bra at all costs!!! shelf bras are made for a and b cups who need lift to prove something is there-- for us more well endowed women, shelf bras are the DEVIL because your breasts will end up hitting your chin and popping out all over the place!!!

as you identfied, the only problem with fuller figure is the issue of straps, but there are supportive bras out there with smaller straps-

a bra I have is the playtex y681s which is a conventional t shirt bra, but has normal size straps and cuts across the chest and i have no problems at all wearing that under tank tops.

when bra shopping, i always look at the clips at the back (at the very least there must be three clips for decent support), the shape of the cup must be round and the material must be strong with a firm lining along the top of the cup, when trying to bra on it must not cut into the sides of my breasts, and if you jump a few times and then look at your back- avoid the bra if it has climbed up your back as it is obviously the wrong size.

if you search through good department stores (myer/david jones in oz- not sure what the US/UK equivalent is) -the ones that have bra fitting services and an entire section dedicated just to bras you are surely to find something. even maybe get fitted there too, then that way the attendant can find you a range of bras to try on and may even give advice on which bra to go for. (that said- look for the attendant with the larger breasts- they are going to know what they are talking about!)
Reply:I have the same problem...But i find it's easier to let the girls breathe also...Lol....No seriously you would probably have to go to belk, or jc penny and get the right size...They'll fit you..It's high quality..and at a very expensive price but it's worth it...when wearing a tank top you should try strapless bras the ones the cheerleaders wear.
Reply:I feel your pain! I also demand to have a padded bra.... for obvious reasons. Have you tried the body by Victoria's full size bra? Also, if you go to Wal-Mart (you can save a few dollars this way)... there is a brand called curvations which is Queen Latifah's brand... they are cute looking I haven't tried them. I'm not sure of your body shape, but I'm a 38DD and it's hard to find cute ones that don't look like grandma's bra from 50 years ago. I would try those out... also, you can always go to Victorias Secret and try on multiple styles until you find one that fits properly. Make sure you give it the bend over and pick something up test. lol Good Luck
Reply:Marks %26amp; Spencer, or Asda, have good quality, pretty, good piced, comfortable ones, Asda just started doing the bigger sizes. You can view/order m%26amp;s ones online
Reply:From watching TLC's what not to wear and seeing the bra fitting segment it sounds like you have an ill fitting bra or a size too small. I would suggest you go in for a bra fitting. If you already have I would go to a different place and have somebody fit you again.

How the bra should fit:

The cups should be completely filled out. If the fabric is a little wrinkle, go down a cup size. If you're spilling out of the top of the cup, add a cup size.

If the band rides up in back go down a band size and increase the cup size. If you keep the cup the same size it will be too small, because remember, the size of the band has a lot to do with the size of the cup. So a 34C decreased in a band size will become a 32D. The wires are exactly the same size.

If the band is too snug and you have rolls over the band on your back, increase a band size and decrease a cup size. a 34C will now become a 36B.

If the straps are falling off you need a smaller band size. Use the rule for above when decreasing the band size

If the straps are digging in you need wider straps, because the weight of the breast tissue is tugging on a skinny strap, so a wider strap will be more supportive.
Reply:Try bravissimo they start from a D cup and have a really good selection and they do tank tops and halter necks with built in bras.
Reply:My problem with Vicky's Secret is that the straps are too long. Olga is the best brand I've tried so far, and it is unfortunate that they make all that trimming around the front of the strap. But- I think they do that because of a gravity issue, ya know? With strapless bras, you need to go one size down so that it will be a tight fit and won't fall down- but then you will be uncomfortable all day. My solution has been to give up and wear things that I can't wear an Olga-type bra with. My very favorite brand is Fredricks of Hollywood. If you are young, then you can wear the strapless bras because they are made for large fakies. Another benefit of Freddy's is that the bras with straps are not necessarily ornate like Olga and also you don't have to wear a bra called "Olga"! That always made me feel like I was 50.... Good luck, and please say which solution works best for you because then I will go try it out too.
