I've been in the field 30 yrs. My DDS is Doctor of Dental Science.
What dose the Letters DDS stand for after a periodontist name?

Reply:Most dental schools award the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Reply:It stands for Doctor of Dental Surgery. As far as I know there are no doctoral programs in dentistry.
